I’ve always felt like an outcast. It used to stifle me. Now it drives me. I use my experiences to fuel my vehicle, which is a really cool car that can fly. My name is Raghad, and I am larger than a label. I make art, visuals, bad music, and write good stories that I never seem to finish. I pride myself on being authentic and making art that tells stories larger than me. To me, art is self expression and where truth is found. I started creating when I started walking. I began with the anatomy of the eye, how to make it look real, move, tell a story, and then the rest followed. I got into digital media at 15, and found a new medium to express myself. Today I work in mixed media, and study graphic design. I’ve run several arts initiatives, and my work has been exhibited in restaurants in the UAE. I’m Raghad, a label rejector, but I can’t seem to shake “artist” off me.
